How many people can stay?

Two, in one bedroom with a queen bed.

Is the kitchen outside?

Yes. The bedroom and bathroom are inside the stone cottage; the kitchen, with a sink, fridge and stovetop, and the sofa and dining table are out on the large covered deck.

Can we bring our dog?

Pets are allowed at the Crafters Cottage; let Loxy know before you book. A friendly farm dog and a few cats already live on the property.

Very likely. The jungle around the cottage is full of monkeys and birds.

Children under 10 can't stay, because the deck railings aren't child-safe.

Is there air conditioning?

The farm sits on a ridge and breezes cool the bedroom at night. Air conditioning is available for an extra fee.

Yes. The last stretch to the farm is a narrow, bumpy country road and taxis can be hard to arrange, so Loxy recommends a rental car. The beaches and shops of Speightstown are about seven minutes away.

Yes. The saltwater pool, the barbecue area and the hiking trails are shared by everyone at Canvas and Cave.

Living out on the deck

The Crafters Cottage keeps its bedroom and bathroom inside the restored stone walls and moves everything else outdoors: a kitchen with a sink, fridge and stovetop, a sofa and a dining table on a large covered deck at the edge of the jungle gorge. Fall asleep to the whistling frogs and wake to birdsong.

This is an out of the way place and it might be a more rugged stay than some people are looking for but for us it was perfect. We love community, we love sustainability, we love rustic and romantic settings; this hit all of that, bullseye.
